MTN DEW | PAINTING WITH BOB ROSS
2020 was a rough year. And when asked to do a “Taste and Refresh” ad for MTN Dew (a.k.a. a hard working product spot) we decided the world didn’t need another typical product commercial. Or the same old product porn bottle shot being pulled from an ice filled cooler. What the world needed was Bob Ross – cultural icon, painter and beloved TV host of “The Joy of Painting”. There was one small detail.There hadn’t been a new episode in almost 30 years. But the world needed more Bob Ross and MTN Dew needed to be the brand to bring him back. So we used AI and facial mapping technology to create a new, 40-minute episode of Bob Ross’ classic show where he taught the world to paint some mountains, some snow, and a frosty cold bottle of MTN Dew.
